Domestic Lighting Control
The automatic control of domestic and commercial lighting is no longer a must have accessory of the rich and famous, but is now an important part of energy conversation, security and comfort.
How do we conserve energy with lighting?
Energy Efficiency is all about providing the amount of light using the least amount of electricity, while energy saving could be simply sitting in the dark but it's not an ideal solution.
Energy saving is quite easy; we simply need to ensure lights are either off when not required or dimmed to a comfortable, level matching the requirements of the occupier, both saving energy.
A automated lighting control system can provide this level of control, by using presence or absence detectors in certain rooms and using timers to turn off lights automatically when rooms are no longer in use.
To maintain the required light level LUX sensors can measure the amount of natural light available and dim the lights to make use of this free source of light, Day Light Harvesting, combined with automatic dimming, ensures the most cost effective way of lighting a room.
How do we provide security with lighting?
The most effective method of securing an empty building is by giving the impression that the building is still occupied. This can be achieved simply by pre programming lighting sequences to begin at pre set times or in a random pattern. These events can also be triggered by an event such as an external movement sensor or as the sun sets and rises.
The Right Solution?
We are often asked which is the best product on the market, our answer is simple "there is no single best product, we offer the best solution" which is inevitable a selection of products from various manufactures. The solution may also be a selection of technologies, Networked, Wireless, hard wired or a simple presence detector. Each customer and building has its own requirements.
