As a reseller of AVG we get a lot of people asking us how to stop AVG from slowing
the PC down when they first boot up. AVG actually performs a full system scan on boot up
and for some slower PC's this can cause a drain on resources and slow the PC down.
There are 2 options to stop this, the first is to stop the scan by double clicking the
AVG Scanning icon near the clock, the other is to stop it scanning every time you boot up,
